Are you funny? The Washington Centerville Public Library and the University of Dayton are sponsoring the Erma Bombeck Writing Competition, focusing on humor.
I have to admit. When I was younger, I always wanted to write funny articles like Erma Bombeck. If you love her humor and style, you might want to enter this contest. Entries should be personal essays, 450 wrods or less. Categories are humor and human interest and should evoke positive emotions in the readers. Entries are only accepted online. Winners receive $100, publication on the website and in a newspaper, and admission to the Erma Bombeck Writers’ Workshop.

I want to enter the next Erma Bombeck humorous writing contest. Would you please e-mail me and let me know when the next entry period will begin and how to enter online?
According to the website, the next contest will open in January 2012. They’re taking a long break. But in the meantime, you can read the winning entries here.
